How long is each session?

The initial session is 80 minutes, which provides time to get acquainted with each other, understand your treatment goals and desired outcomes, perform a therapeutic assessment, relay a diagnosis (if it is pertinent), develop a treatment plan, and answer any questions.

Most other sessions are 50-minutes in length hour. If we do Hypnosis, EMDR, or Imaginal Rescripting Reprocessing Therapy the session will be longer, around 80 minutes. How many sessions must I attend?

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is intended to be a brief approach to treatment. Many clients can achieve significant results after 10 to 20 sessions of CBT or less. However, this largely depends on several factors including the severity of symptoms and readiness for change. Many motivated clients with mild psychological challenges require 10 sessions or less.

How and when must I reschedule an appointment?

You can cancel or reschedule your appointment by either emailing or calling during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm). If you call or email outside of typical business hours, the notification will be accepted at 9am on the next business day. If you call when Veronica is with a client, the front desk will put you through to her confidential voicemail.

The clinic policy for cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment is to allow two full business days in which to contact other clients to fill the available time slot, excluding both the day of the appointment and the day that notice is given. For example, if your appointment is on a Monday, notification is required by 5:00 PM on Wednesday of the previous week, allowing Thursday and Friday for rescheduling to occur. If your appointment is on a Thursday, notification is required by 5:00 PM on Monday, allowing Tuesday and Wednesday for rescheduling to occur.

If the required notice period is not provided, you remain responsible for the fees associated with the session.
